The 16-year-old Roma who was shot in the head by a DIAS police officer on December 5 died after 10 days of hospitalization.

The unfortunate 16-year-old ended up today at 10:10 in the ICU of the Hippocrate hospital in Thessaloniki, where he was being treated. His family was informed of his loss.

“Patient F.K., 16 years old, was presented to the “IPPOKRATEIO” ED of G.N.TH on 5/12/22 at 2:02 a.m. with the EKAV Unit with a gunshot wound to the left occipital region, in a comatose state. He underwent immediate surgical treatment. Post-operatively he was taken to the ICU with maximum mechanical and pharmaceutical support of his vital functions in a very critical condition. Today 12/13/22, despite the aforementioned support and tireless efforts of the medical and nursing staff of the ICU, the patient died at 10:10 a.m. The Administration of the Hospital, the medical, nursing and other staff express their sincere condolences to the family and relatives of the sixteen-year-old”

The chronicle of the pursuit

It was early Monday (5/12) when, during the pursuit of a 16-year-old, who left a gas station in Diavata without paying, a police officer of the DI.AS team. fired twice, wounding the young man with a bullet to the head.

EL.AS was immediately notified. and a little later he was spotted by police forces on the same street, without however stopping at their signals. Instead, the young man developed speed in order to escape.

The vehicle was spotted a short time later moving on Symachiki Odou, where a wild chase ensued. Shots were also fired at the scene, while the 16-year-old was initially reported to have tried to ram a police car.

The result was that he was injured and rushed to the Hippocrates Hospital of Thessaloniki, where he was treated until today, where he succumbed to his injuries.
