The 5 changes for the unemployed: New benefits and bonuses – Who benefits

As the figures show, 1 in 3 long-term unemployed remain on the register for more than five years.

From the new year, i.e. from January 1, 2023, the project to clarify the list of registered unemployed, the new digital tools of DYPA, such as the digital register, the individual action plan, the digital card, as well as new incentives, will begin for the unemployed who find work.

Bonus of 300 euros for the long-term unemployed

The long-term unemployed who have been on the DYPA list for more than 5 years, if they draw up a digital action plan, will receive a bonus of 300 euros.

Potential beneficiaries are estimated at 160,000-170,000.

As the figures show, 1 in 3 long-term unemployed remain on the register for more than five years.

What only the long-term unemployed will have to do is to make an appointment with the job counselor online and then proceed together to draw up the digital individual action plan.

The individual action plan will include the personal characteristics, the professional profile, but also the professional goals, as well as the actions that the unemployed person must take to find a job

50% bonus

If an unemployed person finds work while receiving unemployment benefit, they will continue to receive 50% of the benefit until the benefit period ends.

When will the unemployed be deleted?

The unemployed person will be removed from the unemployment register if he refuses three times to work in a suitable position proposed to him by the OAED.

In this case, his deletion will last 2 years and the unemployment benefit will be interrupted. Deletion is also provided for in case of refusal to participate in a training program.

When this happens, the unemployed person will be removed from the register for 6 months and will not be paid unemployment benefit for the same period.

In addition, in order to remain on the unemployment register, the unemployed person must proceed to draw up a digital individual action plan in collaboration with the DYPA employment advisor (OAED).

Also, in order to be able to remain on the list of unemployed, one must meet the income criteria. In other words, there will be an income cutter.

That is, for unmarried people the income should be up to 16,000 euros and for married people 24,000 euros which will be increased by 3,000 euros per child and up to 27,000 euros for single-parent families

The income tax will exclude unemployment benefit, which will continue to be granted without income criteria, as well as long-term unemployment benefit and aid for the self-employed and self-employed.

  • 56-year-old woman, married, with 12 years of unemployment, resident of Lycabettus, with family income of 2020, 160,000 euros.
  • 66-year-old man, married, with 11 years of unemployment, resident of Ilioupoli, with a family income of 55,000 euros in 2020.
  • 55-year-old woman, married, with 10 years of unemployment, resident of Voula, with family income of 2020, 60,000 euros
  • 61-year-old man, married, with 20 years of unemployment, resident of Thessaloniki, with family income of 2020, 70,000.
