The new laboratory confirmed cases of coronavirus recorded in Greece in the last 24 hours amount to 2.831.

The death toll rose to 91.

The number of intubated people reached them 662.

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 2,831, of which 11 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases amounts to 1,034,070 (daily change + 0.3%), of which 50.5% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 200 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 3,071 are related to an already known case.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 91, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 19,891 deaths have been recorded. 1 95.3% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 662 (60.9% men). Their median age is 64 years. 80.8% have underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 545 (82.33%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 117 (17.67%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,666 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 359 (daily change + 8.13%). The average seven-day admission is 346 patients. The median age of cases is 38 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).

Distribution of reported domestic cases: Out of the total of 2,831 new cases of the new virus in the country, 18 are imported, of which 11 were identified after checks at the country’s gateways.

Tested samples: From January 1, 2020 until today, in the laboratories that perform tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically state the total of the samples that are tested, a total of 7,878,860 clinical samples have been tested while from Health Units and Ladders of EODY that carry out Rapid Ag tests have tested 35,067,520 samples. The seven-day average is 332,797 sample checks.

Self-tests: As of December 18, 2021, 64,661,521 statements of self-diagnostic results have been recorded electronically, while 3,668,736 people came for re-examination.

Bulk Sampling EODY: On December 18, 2021, 39 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Teams (KOMY) of EODY, in which 8,810 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 218 positive (2.47%) were found.
