Firefighters approached the man today with Super Puma vof the Air Force, they found him unconscious, they retrieved him to the helicopter and then he was transferred to the heliport of the 24th Litochoro Brigade, where he was picked up by an EKAV ambulance and transferred to the Katerinis hospital.
Members from the 2nd EMAK of Thessaloniki, the 8th EMAK of Larissa, officers of the Fire Service from Litochoro and members of the Hellenic Rescue Team attempted to retrieve the climber. It is recalled that the climber was found unconscious by his friend, who however was not able to approach him, as the spot is very steep.
As stated in today’s announcement of the Fire Department, the Fire Department Operations Center was informed about the incident yesterday afternoon and 13 firefighters with three vehicles were immediately mobilized, specifically the Mountaineering Search and Rescue Teams of the Fire Service of Litochoro as well as her 2nd and 8th E.M.A.K.
