Urgent appeal for blood donation to the unlucky cleaning worker who was amputated on Christmas Eve in a traffic accident, the mayor of Saronikos addresses.

In a post on social media, the mayor Petros Phillipou states the following:

URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT for a blood donation for the unfortunate employee of Saronikos Municipality who was very seriously injured on Christmas Eve, there is an immediate need for blood group ZERO(0-)NEGATIVE. It is recalled that the car driven by a young man, for unknown reasons, fell with force and carried away the unfortunate employee at 05:30 in the early hours of Christmas Eve on Souniou Avenue in the area of ​​Peta Saronicou, at the moment when he was trying to place a large metal bin in the special arm of the garbage truck.

The municipality car, according to the same information, was in the stream from Keratea to Kalyvia at the height of Lidl, with the special lights and alarms on.

The 52-year-old employee of the Municipality, unfortunately, was very seriously injured and was taken with an amputated leg to the CAT hospital where the doctors are fighting to keep him alive.

As they say from the hospital, after a long surgery the bleeding stopped, however there are multiple injuries to internal organs and every hour that passes is particularly critical for his life.

From the first moment at the side of the unfortunate employee in the hospital are his colleagues as well as the mayor of Saronikos Petros Filippou with many of his associates.

The young driver of the car was slightly injured and taken to the local Health Center. As colleagues of the 52-year-old say, he works two jobs to make ends meet financially while raising two children and is particularly well-liked.
