“Furthermore, in the same announcement it is emphasized that the bank does not provide banking services to individuals and does not make third-party payments,” says Eva Kaili’s lawyer

In a press release issued by one of Eva Kaili’s advocates, Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, he states that according to the Bank of Panama, which appeared to receive money from Qatar on the account of the MEP under investigation, what was published regarding the disputed transfers does not come to light.

As stated in the press release of Mr. Dimitrakopoulos, the Panamanian bank emphasizes that “there is no direct or indirect relationship of any kind with the persons questioned in the aforementioned case, including Eva Kaili”.

The press release of the detained MEP’s lawyer states the following in detail:

“BLADEX Bank, with its public announcement from 21.12.2022 on its website (https://www.bladex.com/en/node/784), refutes in the most deafening way the slanderous reports about mythical remittances from Qatar to Mrs. Eva Kaili.

According to the above announcement, the Bank, after a thorough investigation of its files, confirms that there is no direct or indirect relationship of any kind with the persons questioned in the aforementioned case, including Eva Kaili.

In addition, the same announcement emphasizes that the bank does not provide banking services to individuals and does not make third-party payments, therefore the counterfeiting of the alleged remittances from Qatar to Eva Kaili’s alleged personal account is proven to be counterfeit.

It is certain that in the near future it will be proven that the money found in the shared apartment with her partner is not hers and has nothing to do with Mrs. Kaili’s political activity.”
