Those who decide to go shopping need to first check if the store they have chosen is open
Disagreements have arisen regarding the operation or not, today, of commercial stores.
Some department stores and super markets have announced that they will operate as normal today, while the rest will open tomorrow, Tuesday.
It is noted that today January 2nd is not a mandatory holiday, but a customary holiday. For this reason, after all, the Trade Employees Association of Athens with letter to the Regional Directorate of Labor Relations Inspection of Athens, which is communicated to the Ministries of Labor and Development, requests that January 2nd be recognized as an official trade holiday.
Analytically, the supermarket chains that has announced that they will operate normally on Monday January 2 are AB Vasilopoulos and Lidl while the “Sklavenitis” and “Kritikos” stores will remain closed (with the exception of some stores in Crete)
The opening hours today are the same as on all other days, as the festive hours end on Saturday 12/31 and retail trade returns to normal.
Today too it will work the commercial discount village McArthur Glen and also the Smart Park.
There, Inditex stores will be closed, with Zara remaining closed, as well as H&M. Intersport, on the other hand, will operate all its stores located in outlets in Athens and Thessaloniki.
Closed will be Attica, while Jumbo is also expected to remain open.
