The funeral expenses of the deceased will be covered by the Hellenic Boxing Federation
A resolution on the death of 16-year-old Vassilis Topalos, who was seriously injured during sparring matches on Friday morning in a gym in Kallithea and died today, was issued by the Board of Directors of the EOP (Hellenic Boxing Federation) taking into account the high and flawless course of the brilliant athlete in Greece (European champion in boxing).
Among other things, the Federation will establish a permanent, annual scholarship in the name of the deceased teenager, and will offer it to a TEFAA student.
In particular, it decided the following:
- A letter of condolence should be sent to his family.
- Lay a wreath in his memory.
- The funeral expenses of the deceased to be covered by the Hellenic Boxing Federation.
- To establish a permanent, annual scholarship in his name and to offer it to a TEFAA student, to be chosen by the Hellenic Boxing Federation.
- To organize the Vassilios Topalos International Boxing Tournament.
