Lala: The 16-year-old’s death was probably from a heart attack

No matter how hard the parents tried, Dionysis did not respond

There are no words to describe the tragedy that unfolded yesterday morning in Lala of Ancient Olympia with the death of Dionysis Anastopoulos aged just 16 years old.

The sweet child, the excellent student, with the rare character and kindness of soul who had the whole future ahead of him and dreamed of his life like the rest of his peers is no longer here and the news of his death fell like a “bomb » in the small community of the village and everyone is shocked and overwhelmed.

Even more so, his family and his three siblings, two of whom were the ones who saw their little brother unconscious and immediately called for help, but were unable to prevent the fatality.

They went to wake him up but it was too late.
The news of the death of Dionysis Anastopoulos has plunged the whole of Lala and especially the village of Pothos into mourning, since everyone speaks in the best words about the character of the 16-year-old and his family and cannot believe the “dark” day that dawned in their village and the evil that happened.

And yet, yesterday morning nothing foreshadowed the calamity to come as it seemed to be just another ordinary day. The 16-year-old’s farming and ranching parents had left early for the fields and the children had gotten up to go to school, which resumed yesterday after the holiday break.

All but Dionysus.
It was at that moment that two of his brothers went to wake up the 16-year-old so he wouldn’t be late for class. It was then that they saw their brother in his bed unconscious, since no matter how hard they tried, Dionysus would not respond.

Frightened, they called their parents, who called an ambulance and the village president and family friend, Nikos Nikolakopoulos, who was the first to arrive at the house.

Street race by the village president
“The father called me that something was wrong with the little one… I went there, the child was unconscious in the bed, I massaged him but he had no pulse, he had nothing…”, initially emphasizes Mr. Nikolakopoulos, describing to the newspaper. “Patris” and Kostas Geldis minute by minute the dramatic moments that unfolded, rushing to help the unfortunate Dionysis.

The president of the village transported the unfortunate 16-year-old with his car to a certain point, to be picked up by an EKAB ambulance and transferred to the Pyrgos hospital, where the doctors simply declared his death…

“I agreed with his father, he had called an ambulance, I took him in the car and we met on the road in the ambulance … Pity, only pity? A 16-year-old child?”, added a shocked Mr. Nikolakopoulos.

He was having a problem with his heart
According to information from the “Patris” the child was already dead when EKAV took him to the Pyrgos hospital. The whole process of resuscitation was done, while they also gave him an electric shock.

When the child arrived at the hospital, the resuscitation protocol was followed again, but despite the desperate efforts of the doctors, the child had unfortunately ended up…

As far as the medical history is concerned, the unfortunate teenager was reportedly facing cardiac problems, which were aggravated, probably by a virus that he had been suffering from for the last few days, while he had previously been hospitalized in a specialized nursing institution in Athens to deal with them.

The body of the unfortunate boy is expected to be transferred to Patras, in order to undergo an autopsy this morning in order to definitively shed light on the causes of the tragedy.
