Like it or not, watching the Netflix series “Emily in Paris” makes you want to travel to the capital of France and stroll through the streets where the protagonist lives her dramas.
In the series, Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, is an American who travels to Paris on business, willing to work in an advertising and marketing company. In the city, she ends up discovering new loves and rediscovering herself in the midst of everyday confusion.
The Paris presented, however, often carries the romantic and make-up air of a US production.
Some of these spaces where the scenes are recorded are real and can be visited. Discover the main points that appear in the third season of the series.
Parc des Buttes-Chaumont
Romantic scenes of a picnic between Emily and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) were filmed in this stunning looking public park. Considered the fifth largest in Paris, with 25 hectares of green area, the park has restaurants that liven up the region. It stands out for a bridge over an artificial lake, a lookout point, caves and waterfalls.
Palais Garnier
On her wedding anniversary, Sylvie goes to see a play at the Palais Garnier with her husband. The entrance to the Parisian opera house has luxurious architecture and its interior is just as extravagant.
Hotel Molitor
In season three, Emily and her friend Mindy (Ashley Park) take some time to relax at the Hotel Molitor, specifically by the pool, for which the space is known. With an avant-garde atmosphere, the hotel was considered for 60 years as one of the most popular bathing spaces in Paris. Between the years 1989 and 2014 it was abandoned and was used by artists, who turned it into an underground environment full of graffiti.
Place Juliette Greco
The space is connected to the church of Saint Germain, with its colorful stained glass windows that, when illuminated, generate a view to be enjoyed. The square hosts concerts, paid or free, and appears in an episode where Mindy will perform with her bandmate and boyfriend.
provence
In season three, we see Emily move away from Paris on a trip to Provence. The region is known for its stunning lavender fields, which turn completely lilac in the summer months between June and August.
Museum Les Arts Décoratifs
The museum appears in a tribute to the stylist Pierre Cadault (Jean-Christophe Bouvet), inspired by the exhibition of the 70th anniversary of Dior, which took place in the same place. As the name suggests, it is dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of decorative arts, with a collection of approximately 6,000 objects containing clothing, jewelry, furniture and toys.
La Nouvelle Eve
The production also filmed some scenes in this location, known as one of the oldest revue theaters in Paris, built in 1898. During World War II, after having the first performance with women without tops, it became a cinema. It is there, on the stage with colored lights, that Mindy makes one of her first performances.
Le Jules Verne
The Eiffel Tower may be a Paris cliché, but its restaurant, Le Jules Verne, is just as remarkable. The place stands out for its huge window, which provides the customer with a view of the whole of Paris from above, as the restaurant is 125 meters above the ground.
Tuileries Gardens
Emily and her co-workers have lunch in one of these gardens, with a table in front of a Ferris wheel, located between the Louvre Museum and Place de la Concorde. In the past they were places of luxurious celebrations for the elite, with their fountains and sculptures –some of which were transported to the Louvre–, today they have a public character and are much visited by tourists.
Quai des Celestins
In one of the scenes, the protagonist sees herself sitting on this pier that runs along the Seine, with a bottle of white wine. The avenue, almost straight, is 400 meters long.
Bonus
Pop Air Balloon Museum
Emily and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), take a romantic walk through the exhibition that was on display in Paris at the time of the recordings. The museum circles the world with huge and colorful inflatable figures, rooms full of inflatable pieces in an immersive decoration. Now he will stay in Milan, Italy, until February 2023.
