The Deputy Minister of Interior (Macedonia – Thrace) Stavros Kalafatis, visited this morning the premises of the Fire Service and had a meeting with the Commander of the Regional Fire Brigade of Central Macedonia, Chief Nikolaos Athanavros, the Governor of Thessaloniki Its deputy, Brigadier General Theodoros Kosmidis.
In his statements, he stressed: “During these Holy days, thousands of our fellow citizens are not in their homes with their families, but in the ramparts of duty. Ready to respond to any emergency of each and every one of us. They are the women and men of the Fire Brigade. They are the ones who fight daily – in high risk conditions – for the protection of life, property and natural heritage of our Homeland. We recognize their self-denial, their valor, their great offer. We thank them and we are grateful to them. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy New Year to all and everyone! “With health and all the best for themselves and their families.”
Mr. Kalafatis also had a meeting with representatives of the Union of Firefighters of the Region of Central Macedonia.
Mr. Kalafatis then visited the premises of the Thessaloniki Police Operations Directorate and had a meeting with its Director, Lieutenant General Georgios Douvalis.
On his return to the Command Office, which houses the Department of Macedonia and Thrace of the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Kalafatis was expected by students of the 55th Primary School to sing the carols. The Deputy Minister of Interior wished the children good progress, health, Merry Christmas and a happy 2022.
