They stole two computers from the rooms and emptied the extinguishing material from the fire extinguishers into the rooms

The 3rd and 12th Kindergartens in Eleftherio Kordelio, in western Thessaloniki, remained closed today, as unknown persons broke into the premises during the weekend, stole two computers from the classrooms and emptied the extinguishing material from the fire extinguishers into the premises.

In order to clean the classrooms of the kindergartens from the material of the fire extinguishers and for the safety of the young students, the municipal authority of Kordelio Evosmou decided, after informing the parents, to suspend the classes. At the same time, a complaint was filed with the police about the incident.

“We have a lot of delinquent behavior in our school units. With a relevant document, we informed both the Evosmos Police Department and the General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki, asking for increased patrols. I assume that these are perpetrators aged 15-16. There is impunity. Some people should be arrested and their parents should be punished”, the Deputy Mayor of Education and Lifelong Learning of the municipality of Kordelio-Evosmos Giorgos Stavridis told APE-MBE.

As Mr. Stavridis said, due to the number of similar incidents, around 200 locks have been changed in the schools of the area. In the latest case of the kindergartens in Eleftherio Kordelio, according to the police, no signs of tampering were found on the doors, while the school had an alarm.
