In checks carried out by the Greek Police yesterday, Friday 24 December 2021, the first day of implementation of the new measures against the coronavirus, 657 violations were confirmed, 7 people were arrested and the operation of 13 companies was suspended.
The plan for the implementation of the protection measures against the pandemic was implemented in accordance with the plan of the Ministry of Civil Protection and ELAS. According to its headquarters, the 1,722 inspection teams found 657 violations and imposed suspensions on 13 companies. In two cases the intervention of the police was effective. Specifically, in a check carried out in nightclubs on Iera Odos, four arrests were made and high fines and suspension of operation for 15 days were imposed. It was found that no testing was performed and their clients were found with fake vaccination or disease certificates.
At the same time, as noted by the ELAS headquarters, there has been a recession in the field of dealing with crime. The night, fully staffed patrols, largely prevented the activity of criminals.
It is noted that the leader of ELAS, Michael Karamalakis, is on an open line with the Minister of Civil Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, whom he informs about the progress of the inspections.
