Leftovers: What to do with what’s left over from the Christmas table

by

During the holidays our refrigerators and cupboards are full of food and with the limited calls, no matter how well we have calculated quantities, we will always have more ingredients that we did not use and food and sweets that were not consumed at the table.

Most of us have a laid back attitude when it comes to painting a picture about ourselves and the truth. There are several alternatives to using them and storing what we will consume.

Let’s think smart and creative to make delicious meals with festive leftovers.

Turkey

Clean what is left of the bones and leave only the fat which you can either put in the freezer or make another dish. The options are many as you can make sandwiches with turkey pieces, salad with turkey, turkey pie and vegetables, carbonara with turkey instead of bacon, turkey soup, chicken egg and lemon soup with turkey, Chinese with turkey, turkey and croquettes avocado.

Pork

As much pork as there is left, we cut it into slices and become creative. We make thin slices of pork, burger with BBQ sauce, soup with pieces of pork, noodles with pork, Arabic pie with pork and BBQ sauce and Coleslaw salad.

Melomakarona and kourabiedes

Replace the recipe cookies with crushed chocolate chip cookies (after shaking them to remove as much icing sugar as possible) or melomakarona. You can make cheeescake based on melomakarona or kourabiedes, melomakarona truffles, trifle with layers of melomakarona, cream, whipped cream and kourabiedes, apple pie with melomakarona, chocolate mousse based on kourabiedo with smokie, smoothie with smokie kourabiedes.

Also, the vegetables that you did not use can be put in the oven, used as a side dish or blended for soup, while with the cheeses from the platters, you can knead bread and fill it with cheese.
