A 36-year-old man was arrested in Thessaloniki at Christmas, against whom a European arrest warrant was pending by the German authorities.
The cooperation of the Police Services at European level, with the German Authorities, the SIRENE Department of the DDA and the Security Directorate of Thessaloniki being in direct communication, resulted in the identification and arrest of an internationally persecuted person.
A special search team was immediately set up with police officers from the Search Department, who, as part of an organized operation, located the 36-year-old local man in the Evosmos area yesterday afternoon, against whom a European arrest warrant was pending by the German authorities. fraud and money laundering, transactions carried out in Germany, at individual intervals between 2016 and 2019.
During his arrest, the wanted person strongly resisted, violently repelling the police officers, resulting in the slight injury of one of them, who went to a hospital, where he left after receiving medical assistance.
The 36-year-old man will be taken to the competent prosecutor.
