The artists continue their mobilizations as the legislative regulation announced by the Prime Minister “not only does not cure the problems created by PD 85/2022, but also abolishes the remaining rights of the artists” they say in their announcements

Artists move on “even more dynamically in the 48-hour strike” they have announced for Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd February, as the legislative regulation announced by the Prime Minister and submitted yesterday to the Parliament “not only does not cure the problems created by PD 85/2022, but also abolishes the remaining rights of the artists” they say in their announcements.

According to the Panhellenic Federation of Performing Arts “now, the remuneration of artists in the wider Public Sector and in Legal Entities of Private Law will not be determined by Collective Labor Agreements, but by the respective government”, while the regulation “does not abolish the P.D. and the graduates of the artistic schools of drama, conservatories, cinematography and dance are led to the classification D.E. with art school degrees still considered equivalent to high school diplomas and graduates are now permanently downgraded,” adds the Dance Workers Union.

The amendment “abolishes the classification of the Uniform Payroll in the well-known categories of HR, DE, TE and PE. Any increases that were foreseen for Lead and Chief Musicians as well as the musical allowance remain, but will now be calculated based on the new basic salary that will be determined by the Ministerial decision. With the announcement of the downgrading of our Degrees to level 5 (IEK), we consider it certain that we are talking about reductions to a salary level just below the TE” the Panhellenic Music Association points out in its announcement.
