See ten highlights of Burger Fest, which has pasta sandwiches and gold leaf

Until the 30th of this month, Burger Fest, a festival that reaches its 16th edition and brings together hamburgers signed by chefs in restaurants, cafeterias and bars.

The event takes place simultaneously in 11 capitals, in person or via delivery. In São Paulo, the itinerary includes at least 120 addresses in the capital. Among the participating hamburgers are names like Z Deli Sandwiches, Holy Burger, Matilda Lanches and Guarita Burger, among others, as well as restaurants like Pobre Juan and Jacarandá.

Among the snacks created especially for the event and that are on the menu during the month of November are classic options, versions made with “vegetable meat” and fish. There are also more daring recipes, such as one that uses mac’n’cheese, the American macaroni and cheese, and another that is served as an edible gold leaf. 3 Brewers
The brewery prepared Special 3B for the festival, a deconstructed hamburger that sandwiches three slices of rösti potato, two meat discs, onion, bacon, cheddar cheese and a soft yolk egg on top. It costs R$49.90 and no, it’s not bread.

BBC Brew Burger & Crepe

The hamburger in Freguesia do Ó makes a mix of Minas Gerais and Canada in a snack that combines angus meat, handmade bacon breaded, a slice of Minas Freguesia cheese on the grill and, finally, the Canadian touch: maple syrup, the sweetened maple syrup very common in the cuisine of that country. Named Uai Canada, costs R$36.

Burgers Horn

In addition to a high hamburger disk and bacon bits, the sandwich has an unusual filling: macaroni and cheese, known as mac’n’cheese, very common in the United States. The mixture costs R$38.

Clos Winebar and Bistro

The inspiration for the snack created by the wine bar and restaurant with a menu signed by Masterchef Elisa Fernandes came from the sea: in the brioche bread, there is a breaded shrimp, which is accompanied by bisque mayonnaise, a type of broth made with crustaceans, salad of peach palm and sucrine lettuce. It costs R$89 and comes with french fries.

Edible gold leaf is the special ingredient in the sandwich called Serra Pelada, a 1980s mine in Pará. Two slices of brioche bread sealed with butter is stuffed with 180 g of meat, coleslaw salad and slices of salami. The preparation of the snack bar –which only works via delivery– costs R$38.

Içá Burgers and Snacks

Feijoada and hamburger can be found at Samba (R$ 34.90), a sandwich made with crispy crackling and cabbage —common ingredients of the typical dish—, plus orange jelly with Iça pepper, a 160 g disc of meat covered with dish cheese melted on bread with sesame.

Jazz Restô & Burgers

During the month of November, the Duck Burger (R$ 56) enters the menu of hamburgers with voluminous fillings. In it, the meat disc is prepared with 180 g of duck meat served with frisée lettuce and truffled oil on brioche bread.

Matilda lanches

Forget beef. In chef Renata Vanzetto’s creation for the event, the snack with an Asian footprint includes breaded fish accompanied by Japanese kewpie mayonnaise, shissô, spicy sauce and vegetable salad. It costs R$35.

Nou Burger

The cream of egg yolks with parmesan and bacon that makes up the carbonara sauce, which usually bathes in pasta, covers a 120 g burger made with a blend of ribs and a hard top, washed down with truffled oil. It costs R$36 and is only available via delivery,
