This was decided in a new coordination meeting yesterday afternoon, under the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Christos Stylianidis and the participation of all relevant government officials and involved bodies, in order to evaluate the latest meteorological data and to update the instructions to the competent bodies for dealing with bad weather “BARBARA”.
Today, February 9th stores in the north, north-west and north-east of Attica, including the northern suburbs of the Attica Region and the Municipality of Thebes of the Regional Unit of Boeotia, will be open from 10:00 in the morning.
The transfer and sale of goods through services is also prohibited delivery or courierin the same areas, as well as in the Regional Units of Magnesia, Fthiotida, Boeotia, Evia and Sporades until 10.00 in the morning.

The General Secretariat of Civil Protection and ESKEDIK are coordinating the implementation of the action plan and the “Boreas 2” Plan, which concerns the management of the consequences of the occurrence of snowfall and frost, while all forces remain on full alert and vigilance.
For the affected areas, the strict recommendation to citizens to reduce their movements to those absolutely necessary and to take all the necessary self-protection measures in accordance with the guidelines of the Public Health Service remains in force.
In the event that the movements of some citizens are necessary, before they start they must be informed:
- about the prevailing situation and the passability of the road network from the website of the Hellenic Police and
- for the prevailing weather conditions from the website of the National Meteorological Service
It is emphasized again that it is mandatory to equip all vehicles with anti-skid means. The Greek Police continues to carry out strict checks.

Temporarily increased clouds, with sleet in the coastal areas and intermittent snowfall mainly in the northern parts of the prefecture are expected in Attica. Frost will occur in the evening and early morning hours in the north. The temperature will range from 1 to 6 degrees Celsius, but in the north it will be 3 degrees lower. Winds will blow from northeast directions moderate 4-5 Beaufort and in the east strong 6 Beaufort.
