Increase +76.3% presented the total passenger traffic at airports of our country in the first month of the year compared to 2022 and an increase of +3.1% compared to 2019.

According to the statistics of the Civil Aviation Service, passenger traffic in January 2023 exceeded the corresponding month of 2022 and 2019.

In particular, according to the CAA, in the first month of the new year in Greece, the total number of passengers in Greek airports (arrivals and departures of foreign and domestic passengers) reached 2,202,735, compared to 1,249,387 in January 2022 and 2,135. 674 passengers in 2019. From the above statistics, there is an increase in passenger traffic of +76.3% compared to 2022 and an increase of +3.1% compared to 2019.

In terms of flights (domestic and international aircraft arrivals and departures) in January 2023 there were 22,176 flights, compared to 18,218 in 2022 and 22,219 flights in 2019, with the air traffic index showing an increase of +21.7%, compared to 2022 and a marginal decrease of -0.2% compared to 2019.

The fact that a marginal decrease in flights is recorded (January 2023 compared to January 2019), but an increase in passenger traffic is due to the capacity and fullness of the aircraft.
