The 40-year-old man – father of 2 children – died in the Intensive Care Unit of PAGNI after being severely injured with a chainsaw on Saturday.
According to information from cretapost, the unfortunate man could not stand it and succumbed to his injuries last night, plunging his family and the entire local community of Heraklion into mourning.
How did the tragic accident happen?
Everything happened last Saturday morning, when the 40-year-old went with a relative to the village of Elia in order to prune his olive trees using a chainsaw.
At some point, unknown how, he loses control of the chainsaw and injures him in the armpit area. This resulted in him suffering uncontrollable bleeding.
An EKAV ambulance and “Pegasus” rushed to the scene immediately with the doctor to offer him first aid.
The 40-year-old due to bleeding has a seizure with the doctor and the rescuers fighting to bring him back to life. Finally, several minutes later they succeeded.
The young man is taken to PAGNI where he is admitted directly to the operating room and then to the Intensive Care Unit.
Unfortunately, last night he succumbed to his injuries despite the superhuman efforts of the doctors.
