They departed today, Tuesday 21 February 2023, from the port of Patras, 11 containers with approximately 110 tons of humanitarian aid, intended for the earthquake victims of Turkey. It is about for the second mission which is carried out from the port of Patras under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the competent Deputy Minister, Andreas Katsaniotis.

The humanitarian aid, organized by Hellenic Aid, KEDE and the Regions of the country, arrived early in the morning at the port of Patras and was loaded onto the ship Artemis Seaways, which departed at noon for Istanbul, while from there, the humanitarian aid will be forwarded to the earthquake affected areas of Turkey.

On this occasion, Mr. Katsaniotis stated:

“It is our duty to respond, not only to the enormous humanitarian needs created by the earthquake, but also to the enormous help shown by the Greek people to the citizens of Turkey affected by the earthquake. We are continuing the work we have undertaken, with the constant goal that aid reaches where it needs to be on time.”

It is also noted that additional 26 tons with sanitary material and emergency supplies arrived by air in Syria on Monday 20 February with the assistance of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
