A rare and impressive spectacle had the opportunity to enjoy tonight, the Patrinos and the thousands of visitors who have flooded the capital of the Carnival, at the beginning of the three days of the climax
Shortly before the concert appearance of Goran Bregovic and the Wedding and Funeral Band on the stage of Georgiou Square, on Friday’s carnival night, the first spectacular appearance of the Municipality’s floats before the public through their separate parade through the main streets of Patras, was a dominant artistic, entertaining as well as spectacular event raising the carnival thermometer to the heights and provoking the admiration and gazes of carnival goers and spectators.
The parade of lighted carnival floats, the first in three years due to the pandemic, was accompanied by the Polyphonic Philharmonic, which performed under the direction of Giorgos Bourdopoulos for carnival purposes, but also with the participation of the great and acclaimed Helix Action Theater, a leading representative of the street theater, which presented the special street spectacle in the form of an “All White” parade.
This is an action in the form of a night parade, particularly impressive, communicative and perfectly suited to our Carnival. Ten actors and 3 musicians with percussion and wind instruments, high stilts with suspensions, huge skirts and impressive costumes, acrobats, jugglers with fires, and Pierrots composed a magical image, spreading joy and laughter to young and old.
