As he said, it is not possible for the children to stay closed, they will come in contact with friends, their parents will go to work while they will continue to take private lessons at home.
He added that nowhere in the world were schools closed due to Omicron’s new pandemic wave.
The president of EINAP warned that a large number of coronavirus cases are expected in the near future and that the peak is expected around 12 to 15 January.
Ms. Pagoni also mentioned that the coverage of ICU beds in the hospitals of Attica and Thessaloniki reaches 91%, however the patients are sick with the Delta mutation and not the Micron.
Regarding the course of the pandemic, he said that from May onwards, things will be much better as “the virus will not greet us but we will be able to fully control it.”
