The stationmaster of the Larissa Station and his supervisor have been put on holiday, as the investigation into the causes of the tragedy in Tempi is ongoing, according to a statement issued by the OSE.
The announcement states:
“The Hellenic Railways Organization once again expresses its condolences and pain, pledging to do everything possible to render full and absolute justice regarding the causes of the tragic event, in which so many lives were lost .
From the first moment, the management and executives of the Organization were at the scene of the accident and with special crews they have thrown their weight in the release of the passengers and the overall response to the accident in the field, assisting all co-competent agencies.
Under the weight of such conditions and based on these priorities, it is extremely difficult for the Organization to respond to the detailed information of public opinion through the mass media, which will happen in the next period with the utmost respect for the victims of the accident.
The OSE also announces that the Larissa Station Shift Master and his Supervisor have been put on holiday from the first moment, as the pre-investigation process into the causes and circumstances of the accident is ongoing.”
