The brother of the victims says he is disappointed with the company
At 12:00 on Monday, March 6, Stelios Koukariotis is burying his sisters who were on the fatal train on the evening of Tuesday, February 28.
Speaking on the show “Dekatians” with Yiannis Pittaras and Giorgos Grigoriadis, Mr. Koukariotis said that his two sisters had traveled from Germany to attend their cousin’s funeral and took the return train to Thessaloniki and then to Germany.
“The victims, the dead and the injured are asking for justice. The relatives and friends of the victims are demanding justice. Now we are saying goodbye to our loved ones and we have to make a decision that we will not see them again,” said Mr. Koukariotis, stressing: “I am disappointed with the company. They should have come out and informed us from the first moment.”
“Some acquaintances from Germany called me that they tried to contact my sisters. Then I started looking for information, I saw that the train should have arrived in Thessaloniki, and then I found out that there was a delay of 1.5 hours. Then I realized that this train with my sisters on it was the fatal one,” he added.
