Meetings with Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and after political parties will be carried out by Panhellenic Federation of Railways and Fixed Track Vehicles according to a relevant statement by its president, Yiannis Ditsa.

In his statement he emphasizes: “we didn’t hide from anyone. Now is the difficult time of burying the innocent victims of this tragedy, but it is also the time of all those who managed the fate of the Railway, to speak explaining everything because everything that was to be said from our side was said without partisan blinkers seriously and responsibly“, expressing once again the warmest condolences to the families of the victims and to the families of colleagues.

The statement of the president of POS is as follows:

From 28/2/2023 to 1/3/2023 until today, due to the tragic railway accident, the Panhellenic Federation of Railways and Fixed Track Vehicles, the Unions and the employees of the railway companies, we responded to the call of the Mass Media (although not we used to know each other) giving answers to all the journalists’ questions, in order to highlight the causes, omissions and delays in the Railway projects, which are the result of all government policies over time.

We didn’t hide from anyone. Now is the difficult time of burying the innocent victims of this tragedy, but it is also the time of all those who managed the fate of the Railway, to speak explaining everything, because everything that was to be said from our side was said without partisan blinkers seriously and responsibly. We talked about everything and tried during the four (4) days that have passed to convince everyone about the railway developments respecting the workers we represent as well as our fellow passengers who use the train.

After the meetings that will occur with the Ministry of Infrastructure – Transport and with the Political Parties, the decisions that will be made will be communicated to you in a Press Conference in which we hope you will be present. I once again express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the families of our colleagues».
