ESIEA’s intervention was prompted by the statements of a well-known humorist after the confrontation that broke out on the occasion of the tragic accident in Tempi.

“Since the first moment of the tragic accident in Tempi, journalists have been on the front line and broadcast the developments day and night. Investigative journalism has long highlighted deficiencies in rail infrastructure and safety. These reports were not reproduced as much as the seriousness of the matter would have required under the responsibility of the press companies and their owners.

“ESIEA’s Board of Directors was publicly and clearly positioned for the structural problems of the Media. The easy “sacking” that results in the actual targeting of journalists by “humorous” broadcasts, is a cheap instrumentalization of the justified anger of society and clearly attempts to shift the burden of real responsibilities.

“It would be good the “humorous” presenters not to contribute to covering up and offsetting the responsibilities, it is not the first time, and to respect the work of thousands of workers who work tirelessly with salaries that are far from them of the televangelists-honourers”.
