The reaction of employees meets the establishment of the Children’s Oncology Center “Agia Sophia”, as a Legal Entity under Private Law and for this reason they are holding a demonstration today at 1.00 in the afternoon, protesting this development.

Also, on the day of the passing of the bill, they are planning a work stoppage and a march to the Parliament

The relevant bill that was voted on principle and is introduced to the Plenary of the Parliament for discussion and voting next week.

The reactions also continue from the association of parents of children with neoplastic diseases “Flame”, but also from all the unions of doctors and workers of the NHS.

As they argue, the Oncology Unit provides an integrated network of services, is the only one in our country and is a model for all of Europe.

However, with the new law, it is now detached from the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital. They even speak of “privatization”, which in the long run is expected to harm medical services for children with cancer, as they say.

“In fact, a few days after the tragedy of Tempe, the government should be a little more careful in matters of privatizing public common goods, let alone in matters of health”, state among others in their announcement the public hospital workers (POEDIN).
