Fraud in her name is reported by Matina Pagonis, i.e. its connection to a misleading advertisement of a pharmaceutical preparation. The president of EINAP filed a lawsuit with the competent authorities through her lawyer Yannis Karousou.

As Ms. Pagoni complains, there is an attempt to deceive consumers, which is attempted by “illegal exploitation of her professional reputation and credibility”.

Among other things, in the statement issued by Ms. Karouzos’ attorney, it is emphasized that “Caution is advised as Ms. Pagoni has never given an interview regarding the effectiveness of the product in question, while she has in no way been involved in its promotion and sale. It was about advertising a product by deceptive means, with the publication of a fabricated interview, which my principal never granted, but also with the use of her personal photos, which have been used for promotional purposes without her knowledge and consent.”

The announcement of Yannis Karouzos in detail

“In my capacity as attorney-at-law of Mrs. Matina Pagonis, I announce that she is in no way related to the advertising and purchase of a pharmaceutical preparation – a product called “fungent”.

“The attention of all consumers is recommended as Ms. Pagoni has never given an interview regarding the effectiveness of the product in question, while she has in no way been involved in its promotion and sale. It was product advertising by deceptive means, by publishing a fabricated interview, which my client never granted, and by using her personal photos, which have been used for promotional purposes without her knowledge and consent. She denounces the deception of consumers and patients, which is attempted by the illegal exploitation of her professional reputation and credibility, which have been acquired through personal toil, devotion to medical science and function and self-sacrifice in the service of public health.
An attempt is being made to illegally exploit the trust that Ms. Pagoni enjoys from all of her patients and an attempt is being made to steal her professional and scientific career and credibility. For this reason, in order to protect her professional reputation and prestige as well as for the protection of patients and public health, she immediately filed a lawsuit with the competent authorities in order for the Greek Police and the Directorate for the Prosecution of Electronic Crime to investigate the above and to attribute the appropriate criminal responsibilities to each person responsible. Finally, Ms. Pagoni would like to clarify herewith to all consumers that the circulation and sale of drugs via the Internet is expressly prohibited by current legislation and the use of such products poses serious health risks, while a drug or preparation is safe, only when it has been produced and quality-controlled according to the rules overseen by the relevant government agencies, and only when it is made available through the legal supply chain.’
