Robbery with “golden” booty several thousand euros occurred late Thursday afternoon (9/3) around 7 in the parking lot of the national highway Lamia – Thessaloniki Street and specifically at the 221st km between Agia Marina and Stylida.

A car driven by a 30-year-old man in the direction of the co-capital, stopped at the scene in order for his parents to go to the toilet, and then an unknown assailant opened the passenger door and grabbed a bag containing 38,000 euros, two Rolex watches and other valuables, estimated value over 200,000 euros.

When the 30-year-old reacted and bewildered try to stop him, the perpetrator threatened him with a sharp object (probably a knife) and fled by jumping the national highway fence. In fact, in his attempt to do the same, the 30-year-old slightly injured his hand.

From the first evidence, the robber cannot have been found at the scene by chance, and it is possible that an accomplice was following the car. The case has been taken over by the Security Directorate of Lamia, which is also examining the footage from the cameras along the national highway.
