Only 24 hours remain before the market pass platform “closes its doors” to those interested. And immediately after that it will be time for the second payment package. Those who applied in February have already received their money. On March 20, those who submitted their applications in March will be paid.

More specifically, those who have chosen to receive their money through intangibles digital card:

-On March 20th they will be paid for the months of February and March

-For the months of April to July, they will receive their money every 3rd of the corresponding month (April 3rd, April’s money, etc.)

Those who have chosen to receive their money via credit to their bank account (reduced by 20%):

– On March 20, the months of February, March and April will be paid

– On May 3, the months of May, June and July will be paid.

For the necessary calculations, those interested should know that the aid ranges from €22 to €100 as it is given at the level of a household whose members are spouses or a couple with a cohabitation agreement, their dependent children and any guests. Thus the aid is scaled as follows:

Household members Reinforcement

1 €22

2 €32

3 €42

4 €52

5 €62

6 €72

€7,82

€8 92

€9,100

The payments will be made in the shadow of the data published by ELSTAT on February inflation which show that the pressures remain, albeit at a reduced intensity as inflation closed at 6.1%, falling for the 5th consecutive month. Since September when it was at 12% it has fallen by almost 50% mainly due to the fact that electricity inflation went into negative territory at -22%. Fuel is also very low with only a 2% appreciation.

However, the situation remains worrying in terms of food inflation, which persists at around 15%. It is characteristic that compared to last year, the price increases reach:

-25.2% in dairy/eggs

-22.9% in oils

– 20% in meats

-16.8% in bread

-13.1% in other foods

Before the Tempe tragedy, the government categorically denied taking additional support measures, arguing that pensioners’ personal difference allowance had run out of steam. However, as long as food price increases continue at this rate and if polls show (already the first ones have already done so) that the government is significantly affected by the management of the tragic incident in Tempi, it is not excluded that it will again resort to its privileged field, the economy and find room for additional aid. An Easter punctuality check and an extension of the market pass have already fallen on the table..,
