Five of the 14 defendants protesting against the cutting of trees in the Ancient Agora square were arrested again.

A new case was filed against them by the AT White Tower for infidelity. The reason is because they refused to be fingerprinted after yesterday’s spontaneous procedure. Among those arrested are the 29-year-old son of Michalis Tremopoulos, two men, aged 38 and 33, and two women, aged 26 and 34. The latter is a French national.

Today, Tuesday, they are expected to be taken to the Prosecutor’s Office of First Instance to be prosecuted, while it is expected that they will be referred to a Misdemeanor Court to be tried.

Furthermore, the five are included in the total of 14 accused and for illegal violence as they protested the cutting of trees by the municipality of Thessaloniki. Yesterday, after the first criminal prosecution, they were referred to be tried at the Automatic Three-member Misdemeanor Court, but the hearing of the case was postponed and they were released.

Then those who had not been fingerprinted were taken to the General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki for marking. According to the police, the 5 refused to give fingerprints
