The funeral of the 29-year-old train driver was held Nikos Nalbandis in Perea Edessa. Relatives and friends they said their last goodbyes to the unfortunate 29-year-old train driver who lost his life in the Tempe tragedy.
The funeral took place several days after the request of his father, who was held in Turkish prisons, to come to our country to attend the last farewell of his child. The request was finally accepted after a series of procedures and contacts between Greece and Turkey.
The 28-year-old’s grandfather, for his part, asked that those responsible for the Tempe tragedy be punished.

In a statement, the family of the 29-year-old is grateful to ministers Nikos Dendias and Takis Theodorikakos for their humanity, their selfless help and their immediate actions for the repatriation of Nikos’ father, Dimitris.
