The deputy mayor of Athens, Christos Tedomas, issued a statement in which he states:

“In relation to the information on the audit report concerning my Pothen Esshes and forwarded to the competent prosecutor of First Instance which is published in the printed and electronic press, I feel the obligation to clarify:

It is true that a preliminary examination is being conducted in relation to my Property Statements for the years 2016 to 2021, which as an elected official, I am legally obliged to submit.

In these Declarations, all the assets of both me and my wife are listed in detail and fully justified.

Regarding the amount mentioned in the publications and which is in a Greek bank, it concerns deposits held by my wife and her mother from 1995 until today.

  • The acquisition of most of them, goes back to sources before 1995 (that is, before I even got married), and the rest comes from leases of family properties.
  • All my incomes are documented and proven to be legal in all respects and the relevant tax obligations have already been exhausted and paid.
  • It goes without saying that everything has been declared as provided for in the Declarations of Nothingness.

In the context of the preliminary examination, all the evidence will be provided and in an indisputable way justice will give the answer and every shadow will be removed.

My personal path is crystal clear. As a politician and elected official, serving the Local Government and the Municipality of Athens continuously since 1990, I find myself in the light and judgment of the citizens who honor me with their trust. Therefore, I am not going to allow in the least rumors and rumors that hurt and insult me.”
