Problems detected early in a school unit of the municipality of Byronled the Municipal Authority to the decision to close the school for two weeks, in order to carry out the work required immediately, so that it can then reopen safely for students and teachers.
It is about the 1st Gymnasium and Lyceum, in which the inspection carried out by the Technical Service showed that in some places on the facades the apparent external disintegration is finally extensive and thus requires the removal and replacement of the loose plasters.
The work was deemed urgent, however, since they cannot take place and the school is operating at the same time, for safety reasons it was decided by the municipal authority to stop it for two weeks and during this time the lessons will be done by distance learning.
“We ask for the understanding of the students, parents and guardians and teachers for the disturbance caused by this forced closure of the school, but as a municipal authority we believe that in matters of security there are no half measures but sure solutions, no matter how much inconvenience they temporarily entail” , he pointed out the mayor of Byron Grigoris Katopodis.
