His first interview after the tragic train accident in Tempi he gave to ERT the Deputy Minister of Transport, Michalis Papadopoulos, publicly expressing his condolences, his pain but also his anger, as he said about the victims of the tragedy.

“Criticism of society, which is respected and accepted, must be understood separately from the hypocrisy of politicians because this scenario has played out a lot in recent days. So I chose to delay speaking for two reasons. The first is because I wanted to speak with seriousness and evidence and secondly why the former minister had to precede, Mr. Karamanlis but also Mr. Gerapetritis” emphasized Mr. Papadopoulos.

“I was there from the first hour and the situation I faced was tragic and I wish no one would experience it. To see the bodies being moved in front of you, the incredible sacrifice of the EMS and the rescuers. The government took a stand and said what is to blame. He spoke about the pathologies that exist, about a state with significant problems and the responsibility we have at the time of the accident,” he commented.

He noted that citizens feel that the railroad is left behind, while he noted that remote control will be completed in September 2023.

“Remote management will be available in Athens, Tithorea, Larissa and Thessaloniki, where it has already started operating. We have said that Remote Control will be completed in September 2023. There will be Central Remote Control in Larissa, that is, it will be able to control many stations. At the station office, what exists today is Local Remote Control”.
