The two young people had dreams for their lives and were building their common path as in a short time they had arranged to be engaged. However, on the evening of Saturday 25 March, all this was destroyed after 22-year-old synchronized swimming champion Penny was seriously injured in a car accident and expired in Venizelio Hospital.
The news of her death “froze” the athlete’s family. Her partner says he still can’t believe it.
“I can’t believe it”, he repeated sobbing on cretapost, saying constantly that “I lost my wife, my pain is huge and I can’t believe it”.

Her friend, colleagues, relatives and a crowd of people are expected to be at the New Cemetery of Heraklion today to say goodbye to 22-year-old Penny.
The funeral service will be sung at the Holy Church of the Resurrection of the Lord at 3 pm.
How did the accident happen?
22-year-old Penny was in Kato Archanes to visit her partner’s father.
She and her partner lived in Ano Archanes and on the fateful night she was returning home in a friend’s car.
At 13The kilometer Heraklion – Archanon, the vehicle deviates from its course and hits a pavement and then crashes into a tree. The passenger window was open and the 22-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt, causing her to jerk and hit her head on the tree.
An EKAV ambulance immediately rushed to the scene and transported Penny to the Venizelio hospital with serious injuries.
Unfortunately, the unfortunate girl, a little while later, did not manage to keep herself alive, and despite all the efforts of the doctors, she finally lost her battle for life in the hospital.
