The ELAS Headquarters issued a statement regarding the traffic accident that occurred on Sunday (26/3) on Athens-Souniou Avenue in Lagonisi, where the Traffic Director of OSE, Konstantinos Chrysagis, lost his life.

As stated in the relevant announcement, according to the first data, the accident occurred when the driver of the motorcycle (s.s. Chrysagis) crossed into the opposite stream, having developed a high speed, and collided with passing vehicles in succession.

Blood was taken from the two drivers of the vehicles involved in the accident to detect any alcohol and toxic substances, while an autopsy was ordered on the deceased. After the prescribed procedure, the two drivers were released by verbal order of the Criminal Prosecution Prosecutor. Finally, the announcement notes that by order of the Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, a thorough investigation is being conducted into the exact causes and circumstances of the traffic accident.

“On Sunday at noon, 26/03/2023, on Athens – Souni Avenue, a traffic accident occurred resulting in the fatal injury of a two-wheeled motorcycle driver.

According to the first data, the accident occurred when the driver of the motorcycle went into the opposite direction, having developed a high speed, and collided with passing vehicles one after another.

The preliminary investigation work is carried out by the A΄TT.T. of Southeastern Attica, which – among other things – immediately proceeded to order a necropsy for the deceased and to take blood from two drivers involved in the traffic accident, to detect any alcohol and toxic substances.

It is noted that, after the prescribed procedure, the two involved drivers were released by verbal order of the Criminal Prosecution Prosecutor.

By order of the Minister of Citizen Protection, Mr. Takis Theodorikakos, a thorough investigation is being conducted into the exact causes and circumstances of the traffic accident.”
