He spoke to and to Giorgos Autias, the Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakoswho said that its construction is a project that all Greeks want.

“We thereby secure our borders better and more decisively, responding to popular sentiment and the national demand and need to have security at our borders against illegal immigration which remains a strong threat.”

The minister added that “in 2022 EL.AS. prevented entry to 260,000 illegal immigrants. In the 37 km of existing fence it has been established that no one can pass and thus the fence will extend along the entire Evros river, i.e. 140 km”.

Regarding the objections that exist, he emphasized: “The first thing I want to say to those who have objections is to first go for a walk in Evros, talk to the residents and understand that there is not a single one who does not want the construction of the fence”.

Regarding the completion of the project and the elections, Mr. Theodorikakos emphasized: “I hope that if the Greek people trust us and I believe they will, we can immediately after the elections plan the construction of the next kilometers as well so that within in the next two or three years to complete the project in Evros”.
