The police proceeded with an arrest and the formation of a case against 10 people, for the shooting incidents that occurred consecutively yesterday morning in Koropi and Markopouloswhere a 27-year-old man was injured.

Specifically it was formed file against the 27-year-old and three people (ages 58, 31 and 24 years) for violation of the legislation on weapons and damage to foreign property and additionally against four persons (ages 27, 24, 22 and 35 years), a 43-year-old foreigner and an unknown perpetrator for attempted homicide by complicity and violation of gun legislation.

According to the Police at about 10:20 in the morning a group of four people (ages, 27, 58, 31, 24) drove to a house in Koropi, where they entered the yard, shot at the house and then fled. During the search and examination of a house in Koropi by the police, holes in the walls from fireballs were found and 9 shell casings and 8 fireballs were collected from the spot.

A little later, around at 11.30 a group of six people, among them the 24-year-old owner of the house that had come under fire earlier, had set up a cartel near the 27-year-old’s house in Markopoulos and were waiting for him. While the 27-year-old, along with another person, were driving home, he was shot by the group of six people, as a result of which he was wounded in the wrist by a fireball. The 27-year-old was taken to a hospital for first aid, where after being examined by the police, he was arrested.

During the autopsy at the scene of the incident in Markopoulos, 9 holes were found in the car and 2 shell casings were collected. All those involved have been arrested in the past for similar offences.

The file was submitted to the Athens District Attorney’s Office, while the 27-year-old arrested will be taken to the competent investigator as soon as his hospitalization is completed.
