In January, the works of holistic restoration of the damages caused to Kineta by the intense floods of 2019 begin, with the financing of the Attica Region with a total budget of about 18 million euros, after the “green” light recently given by the Court of Auditors with a relevant of his decision.

Among others, they include the removal of sediments that have accumulated in many parts of the area, the holistic and thorough cleaning of the streams, the restoration of the damage caused to the Old National Road in order to restore traffic at the height of the Pika stream, the construction of retaining walls in a large area of ​​Kineta, the construction of flood protection works, but also asphalt paving works on the Old National Road, throughout the area of ​​Kineta.

At the same time, road rehabilitation projects that have suffered serious damage are included.

“Kineta will gradually change its appearance and will once again become a safe area for its inhabitants. The catastrophic floods of 2019 and the fires of 18 “injured” her severely, causing serious damage in the area. We pledged that the area will be fully restored and we are fulfilling our commitment. “After time-consuming bureaucratic procedures and the completion of the required relevant audits by the Court of Auditors, we are starting important projects in the area, aiming not only to heal its wounds, but also to become better than before,” said Attica Regional Governor George Patoulis
