Over 300,000 cars passed the tolls – 100% occupancy at KTEL
By cars, buses, ships and planes, Athenians and visitors leave the capital en masse, with traffic at passenger stations and tolls reminiscent of and surpassing the 2019 exodus.
The Traffic Department estimates that the Easter rush will peak in the next few hours and will begin to ease in the early afternoon hours. At this time, the exit of the Easter excursions is progressing smoothly with traffic both on the Athens-Corinth highway and on the Athens-Lamia highway.
Over 300,000 cars passed the toll
According to Traffic data, there is an increase in the number of vehicles that left the basin this year compared to the same period in 2022, which was also the first year that Easter was celebrated without restrictions after the pandemic.
In particular, this year from the morning of Holy Monday until today at 6 am 311,220 vehicles have passed through the toll gates to Corinth and Lamia, while in the corresponding period last year 291,141 vehicles had passed through.
Full of buses and planes
As far as bus travel is concerned, occupancy reaches approximately 100% from the Kifisos and Liosion bus stations, while also for airplanes it exceeds 85-90% depending on the destination.

For today’s Good Friday, 300 routes are scheduled from Kifisos KTEL station and 100 from Liosion. For Holy Saturday, the buses that will leave from both stations are fewer, however, if necessary, routes will be added.
