In the post, Finos Film remembers the actress’s career, how she met Finos and her first roles in the cinema:
“Katerina Helmi was a great lady of theater and cinema, but also a dynamic woman with a strong personality and kind soul.
She passionately served the art of acting for more than sixty years, knowing important distinctions from her first steps on the stage.
He had the ability to annihilate the distance between role and reality, convincing the viewer of the story he was acting out.
Finos was enchanted when he saw her in 1962, at the age of 23, in the play “The Red Lanterns” by Alex Galanos, directed by Alexis Damianos.
A few days later he suggested her to play in the film “Law 4000” by Yiannis Dalianidis, paving the way for her film career.
In the next three years, she shot another three iconic films with Fino, “No Identity”, “Vertigo” and “The Enemies”, while the highlight of her career was the adaptation of the play “The Red Lights” to the cinema, directed by Vasilis Georgiadis.
Katerina Helmi breathed her last a few days ago, on April 15, 2023, at the age of 83.
Our deepest condolences to her family.”
