A 24-year-old man was arrested on a warrant on Tuesday (4/18) for attempted murder, damage to foreign property, violation of the weapons law and violence against officers.

After the arrest of the 24-year-old, who was taken to the Prosecutor’s Office, the pistol with which he committed the above criminal acts was found at a point around his house. As it was established, this is a service pistol that was stolen from a policeman’s house in January in Ilioupoli.

Regarding the chronology of the case, on the evening of Maundy Thursday (13/4/23), the 24-year-old man, together with two co-accused, aged 28 and 24, shot at a vehicle in which a 32-year-old man was riding with his wife and minor children, outside from a gas station in ‘Ano Liosia.

Afterwards, and while there were no injuries from the shootings, the 32-year-old left the scene in his car, with the perpetrators chasing him in their own vehicle.

During the “chase” of the two vehicles on Phylis Avenue, the perpetrators’ vehicle collided with a patrol car, which stopped, as a result of which they escaped.

After the mobilization of the forces patrolling the area, OPKE police officers. they located the vehicle that had been hit by the shots previously in ‘Ano Liosia.

Inside the vehicle, a fireball was found in the luggage area and 3 shell casings were collected from the place where the shooting took place.

From the investigation of the case, it emerged that the 32-year-old driver, a few hours before the above incident, had gone with a 34-year-old man and had shot with a shotgun outside the 28-year-old’s house. ELAS collected 4 shell casings from the spot.

Because of the above attack, the 32-year-old was arrested on Good Friday (14/4) for damaging foreign property and violating the arms law.
