They were transported by Dutch plane to Aqaba, Jordan – According to sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 43 Greeks have been released so far and ten more are expected to be released in the next few hours.
Another seven people, Greeks and members of their families, were freed from Sudan and arrived today (25.04.2023), on a Dutch aircraft flight, in Aqaba, Jordan.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendiashas expressed his warm thanks to his Dutch counterpart, Wopke Hoekstra, for the help his country continues to provide in efforts to free Greeks and their family members from Sudan.
The process and actions for the release of our compatriots and their family members from Sudan continue in close coordination with our EU partners and allies.
Early this morning the Foreign Ministry announced the release of seven Greeks and their families, again with the help of the Netherlands, who also arrived safely in Aqaba, Jordan.
Besides, they arrived in Elefsina this morning first 17 Greeks to be released from Sudan.
