The unfortunate infant in Arta he died locked inside the car for at least 5 hours, as he was left without oxygen and was exposed to the sun, doctors told SKAI correspondent Christos Stratoulakos.

Although the weather was cloudy when the incident occurred that shocked the society of Arta, 22 to 23 degrees Celsius, doctors told SKAI that the lack of oxygen for so many hours inside the car, although it was not too hot, together with the the fact that the little girl was left in the car for several hours led to the child’s death.

The temperature formed inside a parked vehicle that is “seen” by the sun, is much bigger and the hours too long for anyone to remain, let alone a five-and-a-half-month-old infant.

On Monday, the Artas prosecutor prosecuted for manslaughter by negligence 37-year-old father of the baby who died locked in the car for at least 5 hours.

The unthinkable incident happened when the 37-year-old left for work, taking the little girl with him to drop her off at the nursery, according to police sources. But he never went to the nursery school. After leaving his vehicle in a parking lot with the baby in it, he left for work in a company vehicle for Lefkada.

Hours later the nursery officials contacted the mother to find out if anything had happened to the little girl and she did not go. The mother contacted her husband asking where the child was, and he fearfully went to the car, but it was too late.

He then transferred the unfortunate little girl to the Artas hospital, however, despite the superhuman efforts of doctors and nurses, she was pronounced dead.

The father, who reportedly tried to kill himself, is being held in hospital and under sedation at the Arta Hospital, while the 27-year-old mother of the unfortunate infant is also under sedation.
