With a temporary order of the president of the 5th Department of the Council of State, Margarita Gorzolidou, the cementing of the Rafina stream was temporarily “frozen”.

Two local Landscaping and Ecological Associations, as well as residents of Rafina, have appealed to the SC. All are asking to cancel the demarcation decisions of the stream in question, as directly contrary to the European and national environmental legislative framework, and to stop the dredging of the stream.
The temporary order of the president of the 5th Department of the CoE is valid until the issuance of a decision on the application for suspension filed by local bodies and residents of Rafina, while the main application for cancellation has been determined to be discussed next October (4.10.2023) with a rapporteur State Councilor Maria Sotiropoulou.
