Six people involved in the case of the private care facility for the elderly in Chania will sit on the bench of the Three-member Court of Criminal Appeals.

The Criminal Court of Chania accepted the prosecutor’s proposal to indict six key people involved in the case for a series of criminal acts.

Thus, the four already temporary prisoners will sit on the bench, namely the owner and co-owner and the two doctors of the structure, as well as two workers who, after their apology, had been released with restrictive conditions.

The prosecutor’s proposal involved seven people, but the Council excluded the former secretary of the structure.

In the trial, which is expected to be of great interest, the murders or attempted murders of 32 elderly people will be examined, through multiple forms of immobilization – mechanical, artificial and chemical – malnutrition and dehydration, as well as the attempt not to be transported to the Hospital, The indictment also includes the employment of unqualified personnel.

Essentially, the indictment includes the management, formation, participation and membership in a criminal organization and the murder with intent and especially with possible malice, in a calm state of mind, carried out by acts and omissions in series, committed and attempted, by complicity in the context of an established criminal organization.

The will is subject to appeal in a period of 10 days and then, after another 10 days, the request for revocation.

The case files that have been filed for the case concern misdemeanors, felonies, illegal medical procedures, abduction of minors, seizure of assets, illegal performance of medical procedures.
