In special operations of EL.AS, the two days 23-24 May 2023, for dealing with crime in Southern Greece, a total of 151 people were arrested, for various offences.

In particular, according to the data of the ELAS headquarters, 3,123 vehicles and 5,102 people were checked, while 151 arrests were made for various offenses and violations of the Code of Conduct, 546 arrests, 99 vehicle stops, certification of 1,220 violations of the Code of Conduct, as well as 11 violations of anti-smoking legislation.

Regarding police actions in Chalkida, Psachna, Aliveri and Istiaea of ​​Evia, focused on conducting checks on businesses dealing in old iron and metals (scrap) and dismantling used vehicles. During the checks at 8 businesses, one person was arrested for violating environmental protection legislation, but also for accepting and distributing the proceeds of crime, while 380 kg of low-voltage network cables were seized.

At the same time, in Vrachati and Hexamile of Corinth 7 people were brought in, while in Perama, Kalyvia, Lagonisi, Rafina and Pikermi Attica 2 violations of the KOK were confirmed and 10 shops of health interest were checked.

During the same period of time, operational actions continued in areas of Western Attica and in particular in Agia Varvara, Menidi, Zephyri, Fyli and Peristeri. Specifically, 910 people and 491 vehicles were checked, 151 arrests were made and 16 arrests were made. 6 for drugs, 3 for power theft, 2 each for damage to foreign property, alien legislation, and prosecution documents, while one arrest was for lack of driver’s license.

Also, 42 grams of cannabis and 10.9 grams of heroin were seized, 183 traffic violations were confirmed, 17 vehicles were stopped and 6 driver’s licenses, 17 traffic licenses and the same number of license plates were revoked.
