The Athens University of Economics and Business (formerly ASOEE) has been occupied by university students since the early hours of Friday. The occupation was decided yesterday by the fifth group of students after an assembly, in the shadow of the beating of a professor inside the university premises.
The group of students request free repeated rapid tests for the entire student community. In addition, they request that no student be excluded from the examination and that an equal examination be set for all students with the possibility of utilizing all examination methods with a Vaccine examination for those with a degree. In their decision, the specific students condemn the police invasion of the University, the concealment of criminal offenses of a school professor and demand measures to protect the health of the students and equal access to the upcoming exam.
The students decided:
-Occupation of the school tomorrow Friday 14/1
-Mobilization at the Rector’s Office on Monday 17/1 at 1pm.
– Central rally next week together with the rest of the Athens FC.
Among other things, they claim according to the site foititikanea:
– The police are out of our school! No thought of intense repression against students. No thought about university police.
– No to the installation of turnstiles and cameras in ASOEE. Abolition of the law of Kerameos Chrysochoidis. No thought for a new framework law. No to student expulsions.
– The specific professor to be removed and the case to be immediately investigated by justice. To publish the minutes of the Senate from the meeting that concerned the specific issue and to resign all those involved in the cover-up.
– To resign the rector Bourantonis.
– Cessation of courses at the next General Assembly.
– Immediate Senate procedure open and in intervention to all students. The status of teacher should be incompatible with business activity.
– For our health protection measures and the examination:
1) Free repeated rapidtest for all students.
2) Do not exclude any student from the exam! To set an equal exam for all students with the possibility of utilizing all examination methods. Vaccine test for those with a degree.
3) No to course chains, course registration limits and various filters for the exam.
